On our property at Wee Jasper we have been running angoras for the last 12 years, producing roughly a tonne of mohair twice a year. We have made improvements in the quality of the flock during that period and achieved top prices for our kid hair in the last sale.
I attended Hurlstone Agricultural High School and after leaving I managed a cattle and sheep property in Victoria and New South Wales for more than ten years. After my marriage I became a Commonwealth Public Servant for twenty-five years at a management level, which gave me copious experience in committee work and framing policy documents. I also had the opportunity for further study whilst working in Canberra.
I am a breeder member of the South-Eastern Region branch of Mohair Australia and was the Region Representative in 2013.
I can contribute both organisational and practical skills to the AMMO Board. As a producer I am enthusiastic to see AMMO continue to bring good returns to growers and if possible, to improve marketing strategies in the future.
